Games - Deep One

Deep Ones, based upon the creatures from the Cthulhu mythos, are encountered fairly early in X-COM, and as such are not the most capable combatants you will face. They appear at Terror Sites along with Gill Men, and again in the very final stages of the game.

They have similar stats. to your average recruit fresh out of training and can't carry any kind of weapons, instead they use an electrical discharge which although quite powerful seems to be difficult to aim.

The importance of the Deep Ones as research subjects can not be overstated however. Examination of a corpse will reveal the fundamental principles behind the alien Aqua Plastics which, in turn, allow for both armour and advanced submarines to be constructed.

While interrogation of a live Deep One will reveal not only the basic Molecular Control technologies, but also more durable powered armour for your troops.

Since Deep Ones only make a fairly short appearance in the game, it is vital that both stunned and dead samples be reteived from every available Terror Site to ensure access to anything other than the most basic of equipment.
