| Dustox (ドクケイル Dokucale in Japan, Pudox in Germany and Papinox in France) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon franchise. Dustox comes from the word "dust" and the word "toxic" since it is a poison pokemon that uses powdery, poison-based attacks. BiologyDustox is a moth with a purple body, unique eyes (in that they have three separate pupils each), a set of six small legs, and a pair of green wings. When seen live, these wings appear very obviously separate as Dustox flaps them; however, based on viewing many still images of Dustox like the one above, many people at first believe that they make up one wing in the shape of a semicircle. This is not the case. Dustox has often been compared with Venomoth, another moth Pokémon with a purple body, and is noted for looking more colorful and exotic.Dustox is a nocturnal Pokémon that resides in trees within fields and caves within mountains during the day and is active at night. It feeds on leaves from trees, and it searches for this food using its antennae like radar dishes with signals. Dustox’s wings are covered with a fine, powerfully toxic dust, and each night it looses the excess dust it routinely generates onto its wings. The dust is its natural armament against predators. When a bird attacks, Dustox flaps its wings to spread its poisonous dust onto the enemy in order to weaken it and/or discourage it. In any region close to a nearby major city, Dustox fly in swarms in the direction of those cities, instinctively drawn to their bright, non-solar lights. They then wreak unintentional havoc by stripping roadside trees of all their leaves for food. In the video gamesDustox cannot be caught in the wild but must be evolved from Cascoon.Dustox can be a decent Pokémon in battles with in-game Trainers, but in terms of human-use, it is often overlooked in favor of tougher Bug-types such as Armaldo. Like its predecessor, Venomoth, Dustox can learn psychic attacks like Psybeam and Confusion, which help it considerably. Its Shield Dust ability also prevents it from receiving the negative effects of moves like Thunderbolt (which, in addition to doing damage, can sometimes paralyze the opponent). In the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games, twins of trainers were inroduced and the Beautifly/Dustox combination is a popular choice for them. Anime AppearancesIn the anime, Jessie of Team Rocket has one that she, like May with her Beautifly, uses for Contests. Jessie, however, is constantly cheating with her Dustox, while May and Beautifly play fairly. In the Trading Card GameDustox has appeared only once. It was as a Stage-2 Grass-type in EX Ruby and Sapphire.[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Dustox ] | Searches on eBayRelated searches on eBay |
