| Emerl is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game Sonic Battle. Emerl (a.k.a. Gizoid) is a cyborg (it says it is a living being with a heart and free will and made of human parts) said to be a destructive weapon, as discovered by Professor Gerald Robotnik. Gerald attempted to nullify his destructive programming, but was unable. In an attempt to curb it, he gave it the same qualities as Shadow, a "soul" based on that of Gerald's granddaughter, Maria. Emerl is 3'7" tall, and weighs 30.8 lbs. EmerlDoctor Eggman took Emerl in the hopes of using it to rule the world, but tosses it aside when he finds no use for it. Sonic the Hedgehog finds it on a beach and he and his friends teach it how to fight. As the player plays the Story Mode, the player reveals abilities for Emerl to use. These abilities are the various moves known by Sonic and the other characters in the game. Also, in the Japanese text of Sonic Battle, Emerl is known as 'The Ultimate Being', as opposed to Shadow being 'The Ultimate Lifeform'. In the end, Emerl's ancient Gizoid powers are awakened, causing it to go crazy and try to destroy the world. It is defeated by Sonic in an attempt to stop it, but self-destructed in the process. It is supposedly one of the most powerful characters in the series, almost as powerful as Chaos. In the final battle against Sonic in Sonic Battle Emerl uses all the ultimate skills. (Which is impossible for the player to do as it whould exceed the maximum amount of skill points Emerl can obtain.) EmelIn the TV series Sonic X, Emerl was called Emel because of a mistranslated R. A combat robot built by Dr. Eggman, Emel is activated by Bokkun to help him distract Sonic while the Doctor is being broken out of prison. With the ability to copy the attacks of anyone he sees, Emel is a formidable opponent. He joins Sonic and co., particlularly becoming friendly with Cream the Rabbit. As he watches Sonic and the gang in action, he copies their moves.Like several other characters, Emel enters into a fighting tournament for the red Chaos Emerald. After winning, Emel absorbs the Emerald. His old programming, wiped because of his defeat at Sonic's hand, is restored, and he sets about destroying the area. Despite the efforts of Sonic, Knuckles, Rouge, Tails, and Amy, Emel is unstoppable. This is because, since he can duplicate all their moves, he can match anything they throw at him. Finally, Cream the Rabbit and Cheese defeat Emel by working together, alternating attack positions too fast for Emel to copy. Overcome, Emel falls into the ocean and sinks, then explodes. He and Cream became good friends while he was around, and it broke her heart to attack him. The last thing that Emel captured was Cream and Cheese crying, and he started to cry right before he blew up. E-121 PhiE-121 Phi is an E-100 model built by Dr. Eggman, based on Emerl's design. The Phis' ability to copy attacks is identical to that of Emerl, but since the ability is only powered by Chaos Emerald shards, as a whole it is weaker than Emerl's. The original basis of Phi's creation was on Dr. Eggman's misconception that Emerl was broken. However, after Eggman realized his mistake, he sent the Phis to capture Emerl. Emerl eventually destroyed all of the Phis, and collected the Emerald shard that the Phis used to power themselves. The only physical difference between Phi and Emerl is Phi's grey hue, as opposed to Emerl's yellow. According to the greek alphabet numbering system used in the Sonic Games, Phi's number is off because E-101 starts with Beta, not Alpha.GemerlGemerl (often misspelled as Gemel and G-Mel) is a fictional cyborg in the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games. He is an upgrade of the original Emerl from Sonic Battle. After Emerl self-destructed in Sonic Battle, Dr. Eggman used the spare parts to create Gemerl. Gemerl debuted in the Game Boy Advance game Sonic Advance 3. Gemerl was fought in Act 3 of Sunset Hill, Toy Kingdom, and Cyber Track and as a miniboss in Route 99 and Alteremerald. He also co-pilots Eggman's mechas in boss stages. Gemerl appears as the final boss of the game and uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to transform into a cube shaped machine. He then betrays Eggman, grabs the doctor, throws him into Sonic, and flies off. Sonic turns into Super Sonic and teams up with Eggman to defeat Gemerl.
