Father Knows Best was an American TV and radio sitcom of the 1950s and 1960s. It portrayed a certain idealization of white, mid-class American life of the era. The radio program was called Father Knows Best? and was on the air from 1949 until its debut on television on October 3, 1954.

A total of 203 episodes were produced, running until September 17, 1962, and appearing on all three of the television networks of the time. It is one of if not the only series of its type to accomplish this feat.

A feature-length live-action movie remake by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies was released in theatres in 2005.
