The Ferrengi Dreadnaught is the second most powerful Ferrengi vessel in the fictional TradeWars 2002 universe. It can only be acquired by attacking and capturing a Ferrengi ship. Evil-aligned players sometimes use the Dreadnaught as an invasion ship, since it is the most powerful photon-carrying ship besides the Imperial StarShip, which is only available to good-aligned players with a Federal Commission. The Dreadnaught's main weakness is its lack of a TransWarp drive.

The Dreadnaught also has a peculiar property that it does not appear at all in a long range Density Scan, although a Holographic Scan will show it. This makes it even more dangerous than a BattleCruiser, which simply mimics the density reading of a port.

The Dreadnaught is said to be the only ship that can harm the Ferrengi Scorpion. The Scorpion, having a TransWarp drive and almost certainly all the Dreadnaught's equipment as well, is probably one of the best ships in the game. The Dreadnaught's ability to capture the elusive Scorpion could be highly valuable to evil-aligned players.
