Fy_iceworld is a very popular unofficial map for the popular first-person shooter game Counter-Strike
. It is set in a large snowy field with tall walls that act as barriers.

Note: The image shown is a screenshot from fy_iceworld for Counter-Strike: Source. It is similar to but not the same as fy_iceworld for Counter-Strike.

The map

The teams start on opposite ends of the map. There are many guns on the ground but there is also a "buying area" in the center of the map. The small size of the map and the limited pathways cause the average round time to be very short, but incites a lot of fast-paced excitment.

Criticism

Iceworld demonstrates a common phenomenon in Counter-Strike deathmatch maps, and it is often a cause of negative opinions towards the map: Once a team starts winning, their improved confidence combined with the ability to buy equipment safely leads them to have a huge winning streak. Once a team is experiencing this, they often rush right away and kill the disorganized opposing team.
