George Trevor is a minor fictional character in the Resident Evil series. He is the architect who built the mansion which served as the setting of the original Resident Evil (commonly, but unofficially referred as the Spencer Mansion). George Trevor's story was originally told in a promotional sourcebook released in Japan titled The True Story Behind Biohazard, which contained a journal of Trevor's involvement in the mansion incident and his eventual fate. A revised version of his diary was included in the 2002 GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil.BackgroundOzwell E. Spencer contracted George Trevor, a well-known architect from New York, in order to construct a mansion in the Arklay Mountains region of Raccoon City. Spencer paid him lavishly for the project, which took five years to complete. In 1967, to commemorate the completion of the mansion, Spencer invited Trevor and his family to stay with him and spend their vacation on the mansion. Trevor decided to send his wife and daughter, Jessica and Lisa, ahead of him. When Trevor arrived at the mansion on November 13, his wife and daughter were nowhere to be found. Trevor was told that they were out to visit their hospitalized aunt Emma and was unaware they were actually being used as a test subjects for the Progenitor Virus. During Trevor's stay of the mansion, he became suspicious as he discovered several new traps and rooms that were not part of his original blueprints and also began to worry about his family's absence. On November 21, three men in white coats had Trevor confined in a small room and was informed of his wife's and daughter's probable deaths. Trevor decided to escape from the mansion by using one of the secret tunnels he built. However, Spencer knew about the tunnels and calculated which one Trevor would take. On November 30, Trevor found himself in a dead end, with no way to go back. The following day, December 1 (though Trevor apparently could not think straight and wrote it as "November 31"), he found a tombstone with his name on it, and realized Spencer had planned it all along. It is assumed Trevor died from starvation or dehydration after that. In addition to the Spencer Estate, Trevor was also hired by Edward Ashford to design him a mansion similar to the Spencer one. His design was never finished, but parts of it were applied to the Antarctic Facility owned by the Ashfords, such as the main hall (which resembled the Spencer version).
