ipconfig is a command line tool used to control the network connections on Windows NT/2000/XP machines. There are three main commands: /all, /release and /renew. (For a full list of commands, use "ipconfig /?".) On Windows 9x machines, a graphical tool called winipconfig or winipcfg is used instead. The Unix equivalent is ifconfig.Sample output
