Major Jack Grillo is a fictional character from the game Medal of Honor: Allied Assault for the PC. He is an SAS agent for the US. Armed Forces, dealing with stealth infiltration missions and information gathering, and often takes the non-combat role of scouting in special missions and operations. This is not to say, however, that he lacks weaponry training, as in the game he displays skills in shooting, and is quite a tough character than can take his share of bullets.

Role in the Game MOHAA

In the beginning of the game, Jack Grillo has sent back information to the OSS concerning 88mm flak cannons and their positions, as well as other detailed information that is vital to the success of Operation Torch. However, before the game starts, he is reported to be captured in the town of Arzew, Algeria. Soon after, Lt. Mike Powell, and a team of soldiers is sent to sabotage the flak cannons and a radar station reporting the postions of American battleships to inland artillery cannons. Powell infiltrates the town, losing all of his men. He rescues Grillo from the clutches of the Nazis, and he guides him through the town to a fort, where they secure plans that Grillo was carrying revealing the intent of Operation Torch, and explosives they will need to blow up the flak cannons and to sabotage the motorpool. They also find an American POW there as well.

The group escape the town onto a beach and destroy the two 88mm flak cannons. The POW leaves them to secure the area and wait for extraction. While Powell leaves to sabotage the motorpool, Grillo travels to a hidden desert cache and picks up transporation, a desert military jeep complete with a .30 cal machine gun nested on the back. Grillo meets Powell at the exit of the motorpool, and escorts him to a Nazi airbase, situated a few miles from them on the coast of the Mediterranean. Next to the airbase is the entrance to the bunker whee the radar station is nested. Jack drives the jeep while Lt. Powell shoots. Short after their arrival at the airfield, Grillo and Powell meets heavy resistance, however succeed in destroying a fuel dump and the Stuka dive bombers stationed there.

While Powell infiltrates a bunker to destroy a radar station, Grillo stays in the jeep and fends off Germans in the airport trying to enter the bunker. After Powell succeeds in doing this, he travels to the lighthouse where Powell is, and just as Powell is about to be cornered by a truckful of German soldiers, Grillo rams through a mesh fence to escort Powell to safety.

In the second mission, Grillo has once again taken the time to infiltrate the facility in Trondheim, Norway before Powell as a gatherer of information. As you approach the base which you are infiltrating, Grillo sees Powell from the sentry box, contacts hims on the radio, and waves to him. Grillo runs down to open the front gate. Grillo opens it just far enough, before he is shot by an unseen Nazi soldier. Grillo tells Lt. Powell not to worry, and to go on with the mission. Major Jack Grillo then dies an honorable soldier's death on the battlefield.
