Jak is the main character from the Jak and Daxter
video game series. From Jak II onwards, he is voiced by Mike Erwin.

Jak was a young boy living in Sandover Village when his friend, Daxter was tainted by Dark Eco and transformed into an Ottsel.

His first adventure found him trying to stop an evil sage named Gol Acheron and he succeeded triumphantly.

A few months later, Jak, Daxter, their friend Keira, and her father Samos Hagai, used a precursor warp ring they found at Gol's citadel. But when Jak opened it, they were transported into the distant future and into a dangerous city called Haven City.

Jak was arrested and experimented on with dark eco for two years by Baron Praxis, Haven's Baron dictator. This gave him special abilities to morph into a somewhat dark version of himself, also called Dark Jak, with awesome killing abilities.

Jak later learned that this was his real time and that he had been sent back in time as a child to grow up safe from the Metal Head Leader so he could eventually defeat him. Jak killed the leader and scattered the Metal Heads, and he sent his child self back into the past as he was before in an effort to keep the timeline intact.

One year after saving Haven City it has become once again embroiled in chaos as 3 different groups fight for control of the streets. The people of Haven City had grown distrustful of Jak and his mysterious dark powers and as rumors spread of Jak's affiliation with Krew and Kor the populace targets him as the cause its unrest.

Jak is banished to the Wasteland and it is here where he meets his father, Damas, who used to reign over Haven City but was betrayed by Baron Praxis while Jak was just a young child and banished to the Wasteland where he founded Spargus City.

During this time, Jak was given a mission to save their world from the 'Day Star.' Along the way, he was given light powers, or Light Jak, to help him defeat the Day Star.

Sadly Jak did not learn that Damas was his father until he was killed at the hand of Count Veger, a power-drunk member of the Haven City council.

Before Damas died, however, Jak learned that his birth name was Mar. By the end of the trilogy, the player easily learns that Jak is in fact, or will become, the Legendary Mar.

Jak is now also a main character in a racing-themed game, Jak X, which is not a part of the adventure trilogy. At the end of the game, he gets his second kiss at the hands...er...LIPS of longtime crush Keira. His first kiss, however, was given by Ashelin at the end of Jak 3.
