| Jerigonzo is a language game in the Spanish language played by children in Chile and other countries. It consists on adding a letter p after a vowel, and repeating the vowel. For example "Carlos" turns into "Cápar-lópos". If a syllable has two or more vowels, normally only the stressed vowel is used. "Australia" becomes "Ápaus-trápa-liápa". Some people treat all vowels alike. They would say "Ápa-úpus-trápa-lípi-ápa". Accents (stress marks) and hyphens are not used in written jerigonzo. This wordplay is also called in Chile jerigonza or jerigoncio. In other countries it is called idioma de la pe (P language). There is a very similar game which adds cuti before each syllable, thus giving cuticár-cutilós and cutiáus-cutitrá-cutiliá for the above examples.
