| Jim Albrecht, (December 8, 1949 - October 16th, 2003), was born in St. Augustine, Florida. He is best known as the longtime tournament director of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). He was poker room manager at the Mint in Las Vegas when the Mint merged with Binion's Horseshoe in 1988. He served as a tournament director for the WSOP for over a decade. He also did commentary on ESPN's coverage of the World Series of Poker several times in the 1990s. In his last years, he helped create and promote the Jack Binion's World Poker Open series.
