Games - Jinpachi Mishima

Jinpachi Mishima (三島 仁八, Mishima Jinpachi; his first name roughly means "Sharp Eight" or "Eighth Person" in Japanese) is a character in the Tekken fighting game series.

Jinpachi Mishima is the father of Heihachi Mishima
, first introduced in Tekken 5. He cannot be selected as a player controlled character and is featured as the game's end boss.

History

Before Tekken

Jinpachi Mishima is the father of Heihachi Mishima who was thought to have been dead. In actuality, he had lost to his son over 50 years before the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament and his company was taken from him by his son. Jinpachi was imprisoned for several decades below the Honmaru, one of Heihachi's private estates, and eventually died.

Tekken 5

However, it is explained in Lei Wulong's story after defeating Jinpachi that after he died, a certain "thing", presumably a demon, took over his body, therefore reviving him.

Honmaru was left practically in ruins after the King of Iron Fist Tournament Four, when Jin left both Heihachi and Kazuya
unconscious. Soon after, the G Corporation, the rival company of the Mishima Zaibatsu attacked with an army of Jack-4's. Kazuya stayed and fought alongside Heihachi for a short time but then threw Heihachi into the group of Jack-4's. One of them self-destructed, seemingly killing Heihachi. The explosion released Jinpachi from the basement of Honmaru, and the demon that possesses his body seeks to destroy all existence. Jinpachi emerged from the rubble to hold the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.

Trivia

  • Jinpachi's signature moves are his Unblockable Stun and the Fiery Devil Breath covering an entire line. The Unblockable Stun only works on the opponent at close range, but when it hits, the opponent is sent into a hit animation that lasts about five seconds. The Fiery Devil Breath usually shoots one blast of fire out of Jinpachi's torso, but it occasionally shoots two blasts if the player is close enough while he is charging up the attack.
  • Although Jinpachi is strictly classified as a Namco Boss, his abnormally strong fighting skills and unfair tactics qualify him as an SNK Boss. He is also the first Tekken boss to show the qualifications with his skills, strengths, and unfair tactics alone.
  • Jinpachi used to be friends with Wang Jinrei
, and as a last act of will, wrote a letter to him asking him to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 to stop the cursed Mishima bloodline.
  • When in a battle, Jinpachi's body is surrounded by purple aura, and a mouth with teeth appears in his abdomen.
  • In the endings of Raven, Feng, Mokujin, Asuka, Wang, Jin and Kazuya, after Jinpachi's defeat, his body dissolves into dust.
  • Jinpachi's ending is that when an opponent discovers that he/she can't continue to battle him, the evil in him wells up, and was possessed even more, transforming furthur until shoots up the sky. As his mind was possessed even more, he reaches his final transformation.
