John Gale (born 1954?) is an English professional poker player from Bushey, Hertfordshire.

John is a relative newcomer to poker, having only begun playing hold'em in mid-2004. He first made a name for himself by qualifying for the World Poker Tour (WPT) 2005 PokerStars.Com Caribbean adventure tournament in The Bahamas in an online satellite tournament. He went on to win the first place prize of $890,600, outlasting a 461 player field including Steve "Stevie Z" Zolotow, Allen Cunningham, Erick Lindgren, David Williams, Grey "Fossilman" Raymer and Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu. This WPT win was his first ever live tournament.

Upon returning to his management consultant job he found less of an interest in day-to-day activities and sold the business to concentrate on poker full-time.

John finished in the money on the European Poker Tour the next month, and finished in the money four times during the 2005 World Series of Poker, including a second-place finish to Brian "Rookie" Wilson in the $5,000 Pot Limit Hold-Em tournament. He also made it through to day 2 of the Main Event.

Although John came to note via PokerStars, he no longer plays for them.

As of 2005 his tournament winnings stand at over $1,400,000, and ranks in the top 10 highest-earning English poker tournament players alongside the likes of Dave "The Devilfish" Ulliott, Surinder Sunar, Ram "Crazy Horse" Vaswani and John Duthie.

John has 4 children, 3 horses and 2 dogs. He enjoys watching boxing and used to be a boxer when younger.
