Chris Niblett (better known as Korben) was a contestant on the UK reality TV show Pop Idol
. Although he reached the final ten, he was voted out on the very first live show ending in tenth place.

Korben originally signed up using his real name Chris Niblett but changed it to Korben during the live shows based on the fictional character Major Korben Dallas from the movie The Fifth Element.

Unlike Pop Idol winner Will Young, Korben was "outed" one week before the live show as a contestant on the Channel 5 Mr Gay UK contest in 1998. Although Korben never declared his sexual preference, it was announced to the public this way and some consider this is one of the reasons why Korben didn't get further in the show.
