| The '"Kuudark"-class Assault Frigate, a Taiidan warship designed to take down strikecraft from the 1999 Game of the Year Homeworld, serve as the workhorses of the imperial fleet. They are wherever the Taiidan Empire is, serving often as law-enforcement patrols. Formidable, armed with four mass driver turrets and two plasma bomb launchers, the Kuudark can take on almost any strikecraft patrol and several capital ship types though it is often escorted by a few fighters to ensure its safety. The Kuudark was named by Kushan Fleet Intelligence after a desert burrower on the desert world Kharak. The burrower, which possesses several spines along its nose as well as tough claws, bears an obvious similarity to the Taiidan frigate who in groups of three are often deployed to burst through enemy formations using their forward turrets. When an enemy charges straight on towards a Kuudark, whether beast or ship, s/he is not likely to live to regret it. Like most frigates the Kuudark possesses a sizeable crew and can act for weeks on end by itself without losing any of its battle-readiness or combat efficiency.
