Lejendary Adventure (abbreviated as LA) is a role-playing game created by Gary Gygax. Like other role-playing games, Lejendary Adventure is played using polyhedral dice, pencils, paper, and sometimes miniatures. Unlike Dungeons & Dragons, Lejendary Adventure has a player character creation system that is skill-based, resulting in very flexible character creation to allow role-playing of almost any kind of character. Using "Orders", a player can, on the other hand, still enjoy play as a set character type with benefits; in this way, players used to class-based systems (like D&D) can still enjoy being in a "class". Some orders include the Noble, Rogue, Elementalist, and of course, Unordered.

Various races are also available, with definitions somewhat different from other RPGs, as well as completely new races; races in Lejendary Adventure include Dwarves, Ilves, Wylves (Ilves and Wylves are two of many Fair Alfar, i.e. what are usually called elves in other RPGs), Gnomes, Kobolds, and Veshoge. As for character advancement, instead of levels, Lejendary Adventure characters receive Merits - points that can be used to increase their Abilities or Base Ratings, as well as buy new Abilities.

In general, Lejendary Adventure is light in rules to advocate more role-playing and story-telling, which contrasts with recent tendencies in systems like D&D to add more rules. The standard campaign setting is on Learth, described in several books.

Also, Lejendary Adventure has many new words to replace older D&D terms, like Lejend Master (D&D's Dungeon Master ) and Avatar (D&D's Player Character ).

Lejendary Adventure products are published by both Hekaforge Productions and Troll Lord Games.

A Lejendary Adventure MMORPG is also currently in development.
