These are the characters that have played a major role in more than one of the series' video games. Appearances as playable characters in spinoffs and minigames that have no bearing on the main story (such as the battle modes of Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 4) or the eight character-specific Epilogues in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis are not taken into account.

Jessica Trevor - George's wife and Lisa's mother. She was a victim of viral testing by Umbrella and was implemented with a "Type-A" variation of the Progenitor Virus
. She wrote a final emotional note to her daughter, about fearing the worst and needing to escape the mansion, before dying.

Lisa Trevor

John Wong - The chief researcher of the Arklay Laboratory
after William Birkin's departure, John previously worked for Umbrella's Chicago branch. A vocal critic of the cruel experiments conducted by the company, he was suspected of leaking information by his superiors. John was romantically involved with Ada Wong
, who had infiltrated the lab as a researcher, unaware of her true intentions as a spy for one of Umbrella's competitors, known only as 'The Organisation'. During the viral outbreak at the mansion, John became infected with the T-Virus, leaving instructions for Ada to escape the mansion and expose Umbrella's research to the media. Ada never recieved John's note, having already left the mansion. Instead, the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team utilised the clues left by John inside the note to assist them in escaping Spencer Mansion.
