Games - List of Star Fox planets and locations

The Star Fox
series of video games from Nintendo
features a number of fictional planets and locations. Most of them belong to the Lylat System.

Aparoid Homeworld

The Aparoid Homeworld is a planet where the Aparoid Queen, the source of all the Aparoids, lives. At the end of Star Fox: Assault, the planet is destroyed along with the Aparoid Queen by a special Self-Destruct program created by Beltino Toad. The Aparoid Homeworld is not in the Lylat System.

Aquas

Aquas was once inhabited by a strange race of life forms unknown to Lylatian scientists. The planet was invaded, and its inhabitants drowned, by Bacoon and his legions of exploding starfish. The starfish melted the ice caps of Aquas and flooded the planet, killing its inhabitants and leaving the planet to be taken over by Bacoon. In Star Fox 64, Fox McCloud
uses the Blue Marine
to find and destroy Bacoon, whom Andross
had turned into a bio-weapon.

Area 6

Area 6 was part of a ring of Venom air defense zones encircling the planet. It is where most of Andross's armada was located in Star Fox 64. Its name comes from the fact that it is the sixth area you visit in the game.

Information on Enemy Forces:
  • Harlock-class Frigates: These are sleek, fast, deadly ships that have the firepower of ships larger than them. However, they are also quite weak. All that is required to take them down is a few laser shots to their hull.
  • Umbra-class Stations: Killing one of these will grant you four hit points, and there are 31 in the area.
  • Zeram-class Cruisers: These are the largest ships in the fleet, heavily armored and armed.

Asteroid Belt

In Star Fox and Star Fox 64, the Asteroid Belt, also known as Meteo, served as a natual defense barrier for Corneria against hostile invasion. Andross deployed a rock crusher to the Asteroid Belt for two reasons:
  • To clear a path for his Venomian Space Armada.
  • To construct a frontline base against Corneria.
The Asteroid Belt in Star Fox: Assault is a different, unrelated location. It is home to an abandoned base in which Pigma Dengar was hiding with a complete Aparoid Core Memory. It is unknown if there is any relation to Meteo. As there is a space station in Star Fox: Assaults asteroid belt, it is probably closer in location to Sector X than to Meteo.

Black Hole

The Black Hole in
Star Fox was caused by the Gravity Bomb that was newly developed by Andross. Fox's father, whose name was Fox McCloud, Sr. in the story, volunteered to deliver it to the Asteroid Belt for testing. He went alone, not knowing the risks Andross had built into the bomb. The bomb detonated at critical velocity according to Andross' design and Fox Sr., his ship, and half of the Asteroid Belt were sucked into a newly collapsed Black Hole. Andross was exiled to Venom as a result of the Black Hole Incident. However, for reasons unknown, Fox Sr. did not die in the process. The Time-Slip Theory says that Gravity can be used to make a Four-Dimensional Warp so the Black Hole acts as a warp field for ships that are strong enough to survive its treacherous gravity pull and as a Spaceship Graveyard for anything else not strong enough to survive the black hole. As a result, Fox Sr. wound up at the far side of the galaxy in another dimension. He made contact with the unknown lifeforms on the far side of the galaxy and helped them to understand his universe but has become a part of their dimension and can no longer go back.

  • Spoiler: The "Space Whale" that comes from the Black Hole to help Team Star Fox is actually a Transdimensional Manifestation of a starship from the far side of the galaxy. On board the ship is Fox's father, Fox McCloud Sr. This appears only in the Star Fox comic that ran in Nintendo Power
    in 1992.

Bolse

Bolse was Venom's defense satellite. It had a high gravity field and was destroyed by the Star Fox team
, despite the Star Wolf team's best efforts.

Cerinia

Cerinia is the home planet of Krystal
; all the planet's inhabitants, including Krystal's parents, were killed. It is not known if the planet was destroyed or its people simply wiped out, nor is it explained how Krystal survived, though it can be inferred that Andross
had something to do with it.
