Live2Play is a free web gaming portal, based and created in Portugal, that offers individual, multiplayer, and mobile games. Other site functionalities are user statistics, top scores for players, and games and site personalization with avatars and skins.

All games available at the site are authored in Macromedia Flash.

History

Live2Play started his development in the end of 2002, as a project for an academic degree in Computer science & Business Administration at ISCTE.

In 28 of December of 2002, the beta version of the project was released, just with some of its functionalities.

From that time, until the official release date at the 31st of March of 2003, 11 games were developed, including the first multiplayer game: Picture It.

Several modules were then added, allowing better comunication between the users and the administration (opinion, suggestion and help areas).

September of 2004 was the time for a complete refresh of the site. A brand new design was created and the site processes to manage the users and games rankings were reviewed and improved.

Other changes were introduced in the following weeks, such as one internal mail system and the site translation to English.

Already in the year of 2005, Live2Play started some partnerships with another quality Portuguese gaming projects (such as Planetarium Manager).

In the second quarter of 2005, we introduced the first multiplayer game based on our generic platform Spot2Play, which allow us faster development of this kind of games.

Regarding the future, the main objectives will be continuing to promote the multiplayer games struture and bet in other areas, specially mobile games and MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game). Some other mini-projects in game related areas will also be developed in the next months.
