Games - Madness Interactive

Madness Interactive is an open source online game available at many game websites, based on the Madness Combat Flash animation series. It was originally created by Krinkels, the animator of the Madness animation series, and Max Abernethy of . Other people who worked on Madness Interactive are (who made the music) and Komani (who made the fire effects).

The player takes the role of Hank J Wimbleton (the Protagonist of the Series) trying to kill 'The Sheriff' for stealing his pie. An assortment of weapons is available (even a urinal is included), as well as a jet pack and "bullet-time." There are also cheat codes, create-a-character options and mini-games.

The game has several modified versions or "Mods," which are available for download at (Link is down, leading to a 404 Error). The game is relatively easy to modify.

It has received controversy because of the extreme blood and gore within the game and also because of a level in which the player has to kill a character resembling Jesus Christ, who uses magic to turn corpses into zombies. But it still managed to become one of the most popular Flash games on the Internet, viewed more than 12 million times on Flashplayer.com.

The storyline picks up somewhere near the beginning of "Madness Avenger" after the sherrif steals Hank's pie. You must hunt him down, killing all his bodyguards along the way. Before you finish the game, Jesus will appear, bringing with him a few Agent Smith-esque enemies (called the 1337 Crew) and zombies. The final enemy in the game is the Sheriff, who is anticlimacticly easy.

Minigames

In madness Interactive, there are minigames for players to play in order to get cheats, or at least have fun. the minigames are:

  • Matrix - This Minigame challenges players to fight an endless stream of Agent Smiths, using bullet-time along the way. Minimum 50 kills to get the cheat.
  • Zombies - The player fights regular enemies with the only available weapons: a shotgun and enemy melee weapons. The enemies turn into zombies when Jesus shows up, who is armed with an H&K MP5K, increasing the difficulty. Minimum 50 kills to get the cheat.
  • Lasers - This pits a player against lasers that appear constantly, along with your jetpack and a respawing gun, you must shoot them, the longer your stay alive, the better. You need to survive for at least 2 minutes to get the cheat.
  • Knifing around - The hardest of them all. The player must throw knives at a stationary, yet invunerable opponent, scoring the most points (when the knives lodge themselves into him, not if they hit him) in one minute. Minimum 25 points to get the cheat.

Cheats

Madness Interactive also includes cheats, which you can collect playing the main game and minigames. The cheats themselves have references to movies, anime, or to what they do to the character.
  • Willis - Invincibility - references Bruce Willis movie Unbreakable
  • NewYorkMinute - Infinite Bullet-Time
  • Guide - Aiming Line
  • Armstrong - Twice than normal Arm Reach - references the strech armstrong toy
