Maggie Ausburn (born on August 7, 1978), a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada; is known mostly for winning the American version of the hit reality TV show Big Brother 6, broadcast by CBS in 2005.

Medical career

Maggie worked her way through college, by working as an Emergency medical technician. After obtaining her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Boston, she became an RN at Summerlin Hospital in Nevada. Eventually she upgraded to become an agency ER nurse in the state.

Big Brother 6

In 2005, Maggie was one of fourteen Big Brother 6 contestants, who were confined in a house together, with the objective of outlasting one another. At the beginning of each week, there was a new Head of Household (HoH) determined who was able to nominate other members for removal at the end of the week. After each nomination, a vote was held amongst contestants to select one nominee to remove.

In this, the sixth season of the show, known as the Summer of Secrets, each contestant had a secret partner, that they knew before the show, who would work together on the show. Maggie's secret partner was her friend, Eric Littmann. If the two partners had made it to the end, the prize money would have been $1,000,000. On week 3, her partner was evicted. The week after that she won HoH and nominated Kaysar and James.

Ultimately, Maggie and Ivette Corredero were the last contestants left. Seven former housemates made up a jury to vote for the winner. On the 80th day, Maggie was selected as the winner with a vote of four to three, winning the $500,000 prize.
