Marguerite Perrin (born March 10, 1961) is a fundamentalist Christian. She is from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, USA. She and her husband Barry live with their two daughters, Ashley and Brooke, and their granddaughter, Ashley's daughter Abigail.Trading SpousesMarguerite Perrin is most known for her appearance on the FOX network reality show Trading Spouses 2005 season premiere. She traded homes with a New Age humanist, Jeanne D'Amico Flisher, from Boxborough, Massachusetts. Many viewers were taken aback by her erratic behavior, vociferous attitude, yelling, unexplained vomiting and continuous proselytization.During her stay with the exchange family, she attempted to convert them to Christianity, speaking with the three children and the father, Chris Flisher, individually. Later Perrin asked them to visit church with her, which they obligingly did. Perrin later vehemently refused to hear any words from Mr. Flisher on the host family's own beliefs and practices and became upset and confrontational when further questioned, claiming that Chris was "pushing her buttons". The mother who visited Marguerite's family avoided mention of topics such as astrology, but did attempt hypnotherapy on Perrin's eldest daughter. As part of the show, each woman got to decide how the other family should spend the $50,000 that was given at the end for participating in the program. Marguerite Perrin initially refused the $50,000 because the second family on Trading Spouses, the Fox camera crew, and the money were, in her words, "tainted" and "dark sided." Between screaming fits on the "ungodliness" and "dark sidedness" of her Massachusetts hosts and their home she ripped the envelope containing a letter from Jeanne, the other mother, instructing her on how her family should spend their show winnings. At the close of the show, it was revealed that "upon further review" Perrin later accepted the money. When Marguerite came to her home she complained that her family had not been praying for her, as she had been for them. When Ashley insisted that she had been praying for her, Marguerite continued to say that it wasn't enough. Ashley said, "So it's my fault", to which Marguerite replied, "You did come to my mind." Also during this family reunion, the father at one point remarks, "Bullsh** warrior..." under his breath, after constant reference by Marguerite to being a "God warrior" and a "Prayer warrior". In a recent prank phone call to Marguerite's house she told the prankster that the show was heavily edited and not everything was necessarily as it appeared on television. There have been other such claims from other Trading Spouses contestants. She continued to defend both families involved, explaining that even her host family were portrayed in a very warped and "disrespectful" way, and that it wasn't true. She states that she actually liked her host family, and that they got along fairly well. The KDK prank call was actually prearranged and was not a geniune prank call. In February, 2006 Nicholas McKenna Media created a soundboard to further poke fun at Perrin. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, when on the topic of her televised freak-out, Marguerite said, "When my family watched the show this last week, instead of seeing the humor that everybody else saw and all the Psycho Mom, they cried...I didn’t cry at my party but I cried when I got in my bed because it was very sad to me to see me so upset. It was very sad for the world not to see Marguerite Perrin happy because my friends and family know me like that." The BobbleheadRecently, a bobblehead doll of Marguerite Perrin was sold on eBay for $870Thinking the doll was funny, Marguerite autographed a . Jay Leno purchased the doll and presented it to Marguerite on his 2005-11-29 show. [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Marguerite Perrin ] | Searches on eBay |
