Mariko "Spirit" Tanaka is a character in the computer games Wing Commander
and Wing Commander II.

Spirit had a relatively inconsequential role in Wing Commander, acting as Christopher Blair's wingman for a few missions. In Wing Commander II she learned that her missing fiance, Philip, was not dead as she feared but was actually on board a Kilrathi space station. She was contacted by the Kilrathi with this information and tempted to defect, but refused. Later she crashed her ship into the station holding Philip, destroying it. Her last words to Blair were "Tengoku de omachi shite imasu" (I will wait for you in Heaven).
