Masa and Mune are characters in Squaresoft's video game Chrono Trigger.

Originally, they lived in the Zeal Palace in the Kingdom of Zeal. They also had a sister named Doreen who lived in the city of Enhasa. The two spirits were embodied in the Ruby Knife, which turned into the Masamune during the Ocean Palace disaster. 12,590 years later, the sword was broken into two pieces - the blade and the hilt - and these two spirits dwelt inside the former, which lied deep in the Denadoro Mountains. For Crono to obtain this sword, he and his friends had to defeat Masa and Mune in battle.

Masa and Mune are also parts of a sword in Japanese. Masame means "straight grain," a grain of steel formed by folding it a certain way, and mune is the term for the non-cutting side of the katana. However, their names in the Japanese version of the game are "Grand" and "Leon" respectively, making the name of the sword "Grandleon".
