Mekgineer Thermaplugg is the former advisor of High Tinker Mekkatorque, the leader of the Gnomish race in the World of Warcraft MMORPG. When the Gnomish city of Gnomeregan was attacked by Troggs, Thermaplugg persuaded the High Tinker to irradiate the beloved city in hope to gain control of it. The Gnomes were forced to flee from the toxic radiation, while the Troggs inhabited the city. Legend has it that the traitorous advisor still resides within the great city, served by demented leper gnomes while the Gnomish survivors plot to take their city back.

The Thermaplugg fight

Thermaplugg is not a difficult boss fight with a competent group, as long as the bombs in the Tinker's chamber are kept under control. Thermaplugg's special attacks are limited to a ranged weapon (rarely used), melee attacks and a knockback attack that sends any in the Mekgineer's attack radius flying backwards into the air, much like the Crowd Pummeler 9-60's, earlier in Gnomeregan. The difficulties come with the bombs, that travel towards members of the party and blow up, when in the effective radius. The bombs will target the closest person, or the main tank (tests are still in effect). One member of the party should be assigned to remove this threat, preferably a ranged damage-dealer; a Mage or Hunter would work well.
