| Mera is a fictional character from the DC universe. She is the former queen and ex-wife of the DC Comic book hero Aquaman. An humanoid alien coming from a watery dimension, she had befriended the King of Atlantis in one of her first adventures in the DCU, and then she fell in love and married him. She has long red hair, blue eyes, stands 5'9", weighs 160 lbs, and can form structures out of hard water. The trauma of losing their son at the hands of Black Manta drove Mera to leave her husband. Briefly stuck in the hellish dimension called the Netherworld she has since returned, estranged herself again from Aquaman, and become the new Queen of Atlantis after the Exile of her former husband. In fact only a puppet queen for the new Sorcery Elite, she was recently punished in that the sorcerers of Atlantis turned her in an air-breathing human maiden.
