Closely related to Smithing, the Mining skill is one of the most important in RuneScape
. To mine, players need a pickaxe. Pickaxes cannot be smithed. The quality of the pickaxe is indicated by its material and greatly affects the capability of obtaining the more valuable ores.

Picaxes can be bought from Nurmof the Dwarf in the Dwarven Mine:

Players often sell pickaxes for prices lower than the store price, with a Rune axe usually priced at around 25 - 30,000gp.

Mining Guild

The Mining Guild is located at the southern tip of the Dwarven mines near Falador. It requires level 60 mining to enter. The guild holds the largest selection of coal (37 rocks) and mithril (5 rocks) in RuneScape's free world. It also has an entrance/exit (in the form of 4 ladders) closer to the bank in Falador, so guild miners can bank their ores much quicker than usual.
