The Sonic the Hedgehog universes and continuities have several minor characters, many of whom are anthropomorphic animals. Minor characters are arranged here according to the continuity in which they appear.

Babylon Guardian

The Babylon Guardian is a purple genie, and the guardian of the Babylon Rogues' treasure. Babylon Guardian claims that those who dare to take the Babylonian treasure are greedy, and it attempts to destroy Jet, Wave, Storm, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy. However, Sonic manages to destroy the guardian's lamp and annihilates it.

Bark the Polarbear

Bark the Polarbear is a yellow polar bear who appears in the games Sonic the Fighters and Fighters Megamix alongside Bean the Dynamite. He lacks speed and has a low IQ, but his incredible strength makes up for it. He has the comical ability of flattening an opponent's head in Sonic the Fighters.

He and Bean are confirmed to appear in issue #160 of the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic.

Bark also makes an appearance in Shenmue as a collection toy.

Battle Kukku Army

The Battle Kukku Army are an army of birds that invade Cocoa Island in Tails Adventure. They invade the island to snag the Chaos Emeralds which are hidden on the island. Tails battles against the army and has to go up against their leader, the evil dictator Grand Battle Kukku the 15th. Tails defeats him and the birds surrender. Another name for the Battle Kukku Army is the Battle Bird Armada.

Bean the Dynamite

Bean the Dynamite is a green duck in the game Sonic the Fighters, also formely known in North America and Europe as Sonic Championship.

Bean likes to throw bombs at his enemies, and seems to have an endless supply of them (it is believed that he has the ability to instantly manifest any type of explosive). The character was modeled after Bin and Pin, two characters in the arcade game Dynamite Dux.

He has also starred in Fighters Megamix, along with Bark the Polarbear.

Another lesser known appearance of Bean would be in Virtua Striker 2 . Bean is featured in this game on an unlockable team.

He and Bark are confirmed to appear in issue #160 of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comic.

Bean bears a slight resemblance to Jet the Hawk.

Chocola Chao

Sibling of Cheese the Chao and best friend of Cream the Rabbit, Chocola was abducted by Metal Sonic along with Froggy the Frog in Sonic Heroes. A brown colored Chao with a sky blue bowtie, Chocola was sought after by Team Rose for the larger part of the game. They finally recovered Chocola, locked within Metal Sonic's Eggman android, but not before Metal Sonic copied Chocola's Chaos data.

Eggman Nega

Eggman Nega is one of the main villains in the Nintendo DS game, Sonic Rush. He is cruel and more calculating than the Eggman from Sonic's world, and has sent Blaze's world into ruin, thus why he sets out for the Sol Emeralds. He is eerily polite for such a cold and calculating person. His downside, however, is that he can sometimes lose track of the important while making unnecessary speeches.

Egg Robo

A character first found in Sonic and Knuckles as an enemy in the Sky Sanctuary Zone. This robot features a laser gun which it shot at Sonic. Egg robo then appeared as an unlockable character in Sonic R that you raced against to unlock. Egg robo last appeared in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle as an alternate cart for Rouge once receiving all of Rouge's emblems in the game.

Froggy

The pet and best friend of Big the Cat, Froggy is a large frog. During the course of Sonic Adventure and part of Sonic X
,

Froggy swallows both a part of Chaos and a Chaos Emerald. Abducted by E-102 Gamma, Froggy was taken to the Egg Carrier. Big pursued him, and recovered his friend. However, the Chaos Emerald and the part of Chaos he had swallowed were absorbed into Chaos, allowing it to become Chaos 6, but was eventually rescued by Big with the aid of Sonic. They then took the Tornado 2 back to Mystic Ruins (where Chaos found the final Chaos Emerald to become Perfect Chaos in the final story)
