| Minun (マイナン Mainan in Japanese, Minun in German and Negapi in French) is Pokémon #312 (#082 in the Hoenn Pokédex) and the 'brother' of Plusle in the Pokémon franchise. Minun is an electric Pokémon and is strongest when working with Plusle. It is widely believed by trainers that Plusle and Minun may have been created as 'positive' and 'negative' charge Electric Pokémon, while Pichu (Pikachu's baby form from Gold and Silver versions) was created to represent a neutral charge. "Minun" derives from "minus", here a reference to negative electric charge. The name "Minun" also the same name for one of Odin's ravens in Norse mythology, where Minun means memory. BiologyMinun loves to cheer on its partner in battle. It uses pompoms made of sparks to do so. This Pokémon is more concerned about cheering on its partners than its own safety. It shorts out the electricity in its body to create brilliant showers of sparks to cheer on its teammates. If its partner is in trouble, then it will give off increasing amounts of sparks, unwillingly making itself weak. Its dislike of water makes it take shelter under the eaves of houses in rain. At a meeting of Pokémon academics, it was announced that simultaneous exposure to electricity from a Plusle and Minun will promote circulation and boost vitality. AvailabilityIn Pokemon Ruby, Minun can be found on Route 110. In Pokemon Sapphire, Minun can be found on the same route, although it is rarer.==Anime Appearances== Minun is rarely seen in the anime without Plusle. Its first two appearances is the same Minun. It also appears with Plusle in the seventh movie and accompaning short. Manga AppearancesMinun's only appearance in Pokémon Adventures is with its brother Plusle in chapters 198 and 199, which are in volume 16. They are a mischievous pair aboard the Abandoned ship. Ruby and Sapphire eventually control them to get the scanner before Team Magma does.In the trading card gameMinun’s appearances in the TCG have been identical to those of Plusle thus far, for the two Pokemon have never been seen in any one set without each other. Minun has five cards under its name, one of which is promotional. Its first mainstream appearance was in EX Dragon as a rare holographic card where it shared the Chain of Events Poke-Body with its partner Plusle. It next appeared in EX Hidden Legends, then in EX Deoxys, and later in EX Emerald. All five Minun cards feature resistance to Steel.
