Mio Amakura is the main protagonist of the game Fatal Frame II. Her task in the game is taking care of the Camera Obscura, the instrument which is used to exorcise the ghosts.

Personality

Mio has a strong personality. Alone in a timeless, dark and eerie atmosphere with a flashlight and an old, spiritual camera, she manages to survive among all the dark things that would stop her from finding her twin sister.

Her sixth sense isn't as strong as Mayu's, and she doesn't seem to be affected by the 'visions' that much. It is how she maintains to keep up her mental strength. She's not really fearless, as in the game she has a "fear limit".

Mio feels responsible for Mayu because she believes that she had caused her a limp that would remain throughout her life. These mixed feelings of guilt for the terrible accident have changed Mio into a more serious person. Wanting to atone for her sin, she has become protective of her twin sister and rarely leaves her.
