Montaron was a character from the Baldur's gate series of computer games. Montaron and Xzar are members of the evil group known as the Zhentarim who people thought caused the iron shortage and all the trouble in the city of Baldur's Gate. At one point in the game members of the Zhentarim will attack you unless Xzar and Montaron are in your party. There is also a scene at the end of the game involving them.

In Baldur's Gate II, Montaron was caught spying on the Harpers and was murdered. The player character is requested by Xzar to find Montaron who he believed had been turned into a parrot. When the player presented the parrot to Xzar, Xzar cast a spell to revert it to human form. It turned out to be a Harper assassin who then killed Xzar as well for being a Zhentarim spy.
