| Mudcrabs are enemies in the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. They are brown, dome-shaped crabs that are very aggressive but not dangerous and can easily be defeated. However, fighting a diseased mudcrab may result in catching Swamp Fever, a common disease. Mudcrabs are slow moving and can be identified from afar in additon to having a relatively weak attack and low hit points, making them a perfect target for beginners, especially those who wish to improve their long rang skills such as archery or spells. Mudcrabs can swim in pursuit of characters who are weakened or who have decided that it is too much of a bother to kill them, but their speed in water is reduced to a crawl and so this ability has limited use. Crab meat can be found on dead mudcrabs and may be used in potions to restore fatigue. Mudcrabs are common and can be found along virtually all coasts, and their meat is a staple of Morrowind cuisine. Due to this, crabmeat can be not only be found on dead mucrabs, but can also often be bought from alchemists and apothecaries, and is found in some houses and other buildings as a meal or in storage. There is a talking mudcrab near the Mznach Ruin along Azura's Coast. It is on one of many small islands in the area and will buy weapons, armor, etc. at market value, making it an excellent source of revenue.
