Nestopia is an open source GPL Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for Windows and Mac OS X. Nestopia, like other video game emulators, can run game files called ROMs for the NES. Nestopia is a very refined emulator with many features found in many other NES emulators.

Development history

Nestopia is currently housed on SourceForge with many other open source projects. The main developer is mcfly80. The Mac OS X version is by Richard Bannister.
