| Ninjask (テッカニン Tekkanin in Japanese, also called Ninjask in German and French) is a fictional character of the Pokémon franchise. Ninjask's name is derive from the words ninja and possibly mask. AppearanceNinjask's appearance in based on the cicada. It is a large insect with a black-and-yellow body, prominent red eyes and a pair of white wings with red triangle markings.BiologyNinjask is an extremely fast Pokémon. It constantly darts around, moving so fast that it is difficult to detect it. However, its distinctive cry is all too well heard, which led people in the Pokémon world to consider Ninjask invisible in the past.Ninjask is a difficult Pokémon to train, not only because it is hard to keep track of its location but also due to its demanding personality. Ninjask needs a competent trainer, and if it finds itself in the hands of an inexperienced person it will refuse to obey and instead cry continuously, causing headaches after a while. This trait is not reflected in the games. In the video gamesNinjask can only be obtained by evolving a Nincada. Therefore, the availability of Nincada determines the availability of Ninjask.Ninjask has very good attack, and its speed is the highest of all current Pokémon, excluding the Speed form of Deoxys that is only available in Pokémon Emerald. Its Speed Boost ability will further increase its speed after every round. However, Ninjask's defensive stats and Hit Points are very low, making it a fragile Pokémon. For most players, Ninjask is used as a Baton Passer, a Pokémon that increases its own statistics and transfers these augmentations to another team member when it switches out using Baton Pass. Ninjask can augment its attack (with Swords Dance) its speed (automatically with Speed Boost or with Agility), its evasion (with Double Team) and, possibly, its defence (with Defense Curl) all of its stats as an additional effect of Silver Wind, which is also a powerful Bug-type attack. However, one should be careful that Ninjask is not knocked out before it has a chance to use Baton Pass and that is why people so often teach their Ninjask Dig, Protect and Substitute to make sure their Ninjasks do not faint so easily while its speed is boosting. In the animéNinjask's most prominent appearance was in episodes #320 and #321 (The Princess and the Togepi and The Togepi Mirage respectively). A pair of them were used by the villain of the Mirage Kingdom, Hansen, against Ash and his friends, and used Shadow Ball and Hyper Beam attacks. In the card gameNinjask has appeared three times in the Trading Card game. In each case it is a Stage-1 Grass-type:
