Nouvelle Star is a reality television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol
. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in La Francophonie. Known as A La Recherche De La Nouvelle Star during it's first season, and featured auditions in France, Belgium, and Canada (specifically Quebec). Later seasons dropped Quebec from the audition tour. It is hosted by Benjamin Castaldi.

The second, third & fourth series of Nouvelle Star had 7 audition cities to find the best talent in all of La Francophonie, including:
