Games - Number Link

Number Link is a logic puzzle published by Nikoli
. As of 2005, two books consisting entirely of Number Link puzzles have been published by Nikoli.

Rules

The player has to pair up all the matching numbers on the grid with single continuous lines (or 'paths'). The lines cannot branch off or cross over each other, and the numbers have to fall at the end of each line (i.e. not in the middle).

It is considered an unwritten rule that a solution cannot be perfect unless all the cells in the grid are filled with a line, although some Number Link designers do not necessarily stipulate this. A well-designed puzzle will have only one solution.

History

The first printed version of Number Link can be accredited to Nikoli.

The Mac shareware game involved an electronic version of the puzzle.
