Oogtar the Caveboy is a fictional character created for the Super Mario World cartoon, based on the video game of the same name. Oogtar (played by John Stocker) was among a group of Flintstones-like cavepeople living in Dinosaur Land, yet the actual game did not have any cavepeople. Apparently, he was created to serve as a replacement for Toad, who did not appear in the game.

Oogtar is perhaps the mischief-maker of the cavepeople, as he pulls all sorts of pranks on everyone. Yoshi seems to be this blonde kid's best friend, as evidenced by the fact that Oogtar is usually seen with him.

In the first episode he appears in, "Ghosts R Us", he hides out in the Forest of Illusion, with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi trying to find him. During their search, all of them except for Yoshi are captured by the so-called "most dangerous" Magikoopa, Wizenheimer (perhaps a precursor to Kamek?). Yoshi then finds Oogtar, and they head off to save the others from Wizenheimer.

In the episode that follows, "The Night Before Cave Christmas", Oogtar starts a trend of crabbiness with the cavepeople, prompting Mario to get them all in the Christmas spirit in order to get them to be nicer to each other. Oogtar, however, remains mischievous, and even tries to get to the best toys first (Mario is playing Santa Claus). However, in this attempt, he is captured by King Bowser Koopa, who tries to steal the toys for his own kids (ala How the Grinch Stole Christmas!). Upon discovering Oogtar among his toys, Bowser tries to feed him to a Rex, but Mario and Yoshi bust in and save him, making him promise to be a better person afterwards.

Oogtar is apparently so mischievous that he's suspected of fowl play before even Bowser or his kids. This is shown in the episode "A Little Learning", where Princess Toadstool runs a kindergarten. Hip & Hop Koopa become students here, despite Bowser telling them not to, and during recess, they throw fireballs all around while the princess isn't supervising. Oogtar and Yoshi respond by getting in a fight with them, but when Peach comes back and stops the fight, she assumes that Oogtar started it and chastises him instead of the children of the guy who keeps kidnapping her.

The three episodes mentioned above are pretty much the only episodes to prominently feature Oogtar. When he appears in other episodes, it's usually for a gag or part of a crowd shot. However, the episode "Rock TV" has shown us that he lives with his parents and that he has a sister.
