Games - Orre

Orre (pronounced ore-ay and called Ōre in the Japanese version) is a fictional region that appears in the "Story Mode" of the video games Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD. According to , the region is based on the desert in Arizona, although the game has a post-apocalyptic feel to it as well. Wild Pokémon can only be seen in PokéSpots in this region. Orre's location in reference to the other Pokémon regions is unknown.

The main evil team in Orre is Cipher, although another team called 'Team Snagem' also operates there. Cipher was defeated in Pokémon Colosseum, but returns five years later in Pokémon XD.

Orre is currently the only region to have not appeared in the anime or manga.

Locations in Orre

These areas are in both Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD. They are listed in the order visited in Pokémon Colosseum:

Outskirt Stand

The Outskirt Stand is found to the South-East of Orre. It is a bar, yet it is unique in that it has been built from a retired locomotive engine. There is not much to do here, other than purchase items from the bar and speak to a few trainers. However, it is important, as it is the only place in Pokémon Colosseum that sells Poké Ball
s. It is also the place where Colosseum begins and the last Shadow Pokémon can be snagged.

Phenac City

Phenac City is named after Phoenix, Arizona. It can be found in the southern area of Orre. The city has survived in the desert because it is built on an oasis. It is the home of the only Pokémon Gym
in Orre, the Pre Gym, as well as the Phenac Stadium. The mayor is Es Cade.

In Pokémon Colosseum, this is where the main character meets his ally and learns about Shadow Pokémon.

In Pokémon Colosseum, this is also where the main character obtains his Johto
"starter" Pokémon (a Quilava
, Bayleef
, or Croconaw
) by snagging it from a mysterious criminal that later turns out to be a member of Cipher. The color of clothes the criminal is wearing is the same color as the Shadow Pokémon they have. Only one can be snagged, and the other two are not available until late in the game.

In Pokémon XD, not much has changed. The main character must save Phenac from Cipher's clutches, plus the Phenac Stadium has been abandoned. Phenac has a new mayor named Trest. The boss is Cipher admin Snattle
.

Pyrite Town

Pyrite Town is in the South-West of Orre. It is a run-down shantytown and the hideout for criminals such as Miror B. A number of trainers with Shadow Pokémon can be found here, as they hold Shadow Pokemon as prizes for winning the tournament in the Pyrite Colosseum. In Pokémon Colosseum, the main character also has to go through Pyrite Town to reach The Under.

Miror B's hideout is found here in Pokémon Colosseum. It is a derelict warehouse with a lift on the ground floor leading to the Under. On he roof is the ntrance to Pyrite cave. In Pokémon XD, it is replaced by the ONBS Station, founded by the Kids' Grid in the last game. The entrance to Pyrite cave is blocked off. At one point, Cipher takes over and the main character must battle them there.

Agate Village

Agate Village is in the North-West of Orre. It is a village inside a lush oasis, and the home of Rui's grandparents. There is also the daycare center, where the daycare woman lives with the name rater, and the Relic Stone, the only place where Shadow Pokémon can be purified in Pokémon Colosseum.

In Pokémon XD, the Teacher Lady is also located here.

Mt. Battle

Mt. Battle is a large extinct volcano, which is home to a stadium for Pokémon battles. The battles are held on a series of levitating platforms, floating in the caldera of the volcano. In Pokémon Colosseum, Cipher Admin Dakim and a group of Cipher agents take over the stadium, attempting to steal a Time Flute from the Area Leader Vander.

By defeating all 100 trainers at Mt. Battle in Colosseum Mode of Pokémon Colosseum, the player can obtain Ho-oh.

The Move Deleter can be found here in Pokémon Colosseum. In Pokémon XD, he is joined by the Move Relearner. There is also a man who generates six different moves for Mew. When the main character defeats Mt. Battlemaster Battlus without quitting or switching Pokémon from the PC, he can choose a Johto starter with Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon. This process can be done until he receives the last one.
