| Peter Dickson is a British radio presenter, television announcer and voice over artist who rose to prominence in the 1990s. He has worked extensively as an announcer in the gameshow genre on (amongst others) The Price Is Right (Bruce Forsyth version), Family Fortunes, They Think It's All Over, The X Factor, Test The Nation, and Last Chance Lottery. He is one of the most prolific TV voice artists in the UK today. Most recently, he could be heard as the announcer on Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon on ITV in the UK, a series celebrating ITV's 50th anniversary. As well as announcing on gameshows he has also worked with a number of well known talk show hosts; including Des O'Connor, Jerry Springer, and Paul O'Grady. BiographyHe worked closely with Steve Wright, creating writing and voicing many of the household name characters for Steve’s afternoon and morning award winning shows on BBC Radio 1 during the 80’s and early 90’s. In 1990, he launched the immensely successful Melody Radio (now Magic 105.4) in London, where he presented the breakfast show for 4 years. He continues to present music and entertainment shows for BBC Radio 2 and has contributed to two series of “Quote Unquote” for BBC Radio 4. In 1984 He appeared at the London Palladium alongside Jim Davidson in a special charity fundraiser.Playwright Dennis Potter, asked Peter to contribute to several of his highly acclaimed TV Dramas. More Television beckoned with Harry Enfield in his award winning Tiger Aspect series “Harry Enfield and Chums”. Various on screen character roles followed in the popular “Steve Wright People’s Show” Series 1 & 2 for BBC 1 TV. Bruce Forsyth called Peter to voice the famous “Come on Down’s” and prize descriptions for 7 series of ITV’s “Bruce’s Price is Right”. Peter was on board for the 25 part series of “Family Fortunes” starring Les Dennis and Peter was Patrick Kielty’s choice to carry the demanding live voice work on Channel 4’s “Last Chance Lottery Live”. Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer teamed up with Peter on all six episodes of “The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer” for BBC 2. He has also contributed to 11 series of the award winning BBC 1 panel game “They Think It’s All Over” presented by Nick Hancock, "Catchphrase", "TV's Naughtiest Blunders" and "Safe" for ITV and to "Monkey Dust" the hit animated sketch show produced for the BBC by Talkback. Peter has written for the award winning BBC 2 comedy series “The Fast Show” and “Play Your Cards Right” for ITV. His other TV credits include, “Never Mind The Buzzcocks” with Mark Lamaar, roles in “Holby City”, “Noel’s House Party” and “Live and Kicking” for BBC 1, “The 10%’ers” and “The Unknown Soldier” for Carlton TV. He has featured on Griff Rees-Jones’ “Crystal Balls” for BBC 1, “Tales from Fear” for Cartoon Network, “Sing It Your Way” for ITV with Denise Van Outen and Ian Wright, and ITV’s “Year of Promise” with Carol Vorderman. Jerry Springer also made sure Peter was “up front and full on”, on his Friday Night hit produced by Carlton for ITV, and his subsequent “Late Night With Jerry Springer” for Channel 5 which has run for 2 series. Peter has also completed work on Dennis Norden’s “It’ll be Alright on the Night 12” and "Today with Des and Mel" with Des O'Connor and Mel Sykes for ITV. John Kaye Cooper called Peter to be the voice of Test The Nation, live specials for BBC TV. Peter’s voice has featured in series 2 of “Little Britain” for BBCTV and Robert Grey, producer of The Paul O’Grady Show on ITV1 insisted on Peter as the main voice talent on the show. Peter has also worked with Simon Marsh of Granada Entertainment on “Abbamania2”, presented by Chris Tarrant and Christmas Mania, hosted by Donny Osmond. Simon Cowell of Syco TV called Peter to introduce his Westlife special on ITV. He has also introduced “An Audience with Joe Pasquale” for ITV. Since 1998 Peter has worked closely with the Discovery Channel, narrating over 250 of their highest rating documentaries including the 25 part “FBI Files” one of Discovery’s highest rating shows and "Aircraft Stories" and "Air Traffic Control" more ratings winners for Discovery Wings. He has completed over 150 other major documentary series for BBC Television, Wall to Wall TV, Outline Productions, Adrenaline TV, Café Productions, Discovery Health, Flat Earth Films and British Movietone for whom he narrated the acclaimed 17 part series “The Complete History of World War Two”, “The Fall of the British Empire”, "Stalemate", “The Young Elizabeth” "George and Elizabeth", "Churchill" and "Margaret Royal Rebel" for Channel 5, “Search for Destiny” "Mountbatten", Edward VIII", "Charles" and “Millennium Minute”.
