Games - Pictionary

Pictionary, the world's most popular drawing board game became a game show in 1997.

Alan Thicke was the host. Richard Kline and his production company, Kline & Friends, produced the show. It was distributed by Worldvision Enterprises at first, but Paramount currently owns the rights.

The show was in someways like Win, Lose or Draw
, a show in which Kline also produced. For two teams of three (consisting of two celebrities & one contestant) compete in a drawing game for cash prizes.

Round One

All celebrities play this round. Each one has 45 seconds to draw as many puzzles as they can. Each one has the same word in them, and each one identified is worth $100.

Originally all celebrities draw two puzzles with one word connected to each. Getting both in 45 seconds was worth $200 and getting one or nothing was worth nothing.

Round Two

All players on the team in control starting with the team in the lead take turns drawing a series of puzzles with a linking word connected to each for the next three minutes. Again correct answers are worth $100 and if the guessing players are stumped, the drawers can pass & hand-off to the next player in line. After the team in the lead plays, the trailing team plays. The team with the most money at the end of the game goes to the bonus round. If the game ends in a tie, host Thicke draws a puzzle himself; and the first team to identify the puzzle wins.

Bonus Round

At the start, the winning team chooses which player to draw for the entire round. That player gets to draw single words with one word connected to the next for the next 90 seconds. The first three (later four) words are worth $100, the next three are worth $300, and all subsequent words are worth $1,000. There's no limit to how much the winning contestant can win, but he/she can win a lot.
