Puncho is a variant of the car game slugbug, with ponchos rather than VW Beetles as the point of emphasis. It was created as a response to both the rise in popularity of the poncho and the decline in frequency of original (pre-1998) VW Beetles.

One advantage of Puncho over SlugBug is that its field of play is not limited to the road. Malls, sidewalks, and art fairs are all fertile grounds for a spirited game.

It is said to be rapidly gaining in popularity in the upper-Midwest portion of the United States.
