| Quistis Trepe is one of the main characters in Squaresoft's (now Square Enix) RPG Final Fantasy VIII. She is an instructor at Balamb Garden, where Squall Leonhart, Zell Dincht, and Seifer Almasy are all students. She became a SeeD at an unusually young age of fifteen, and was made an instructor two years later. She is eighteen at the start of the game. She is widely admired by the students at Balamb Garden, and even has a fan club known as the "Trepies." Quistis has very long blonde hair which is held up in a bun with very long bangs on the side of her face. She also has fair skin and blue eyes. She always either wears her SeeD uniform or a reddish pink leather, knee-length skirt and long gloves with black boots. In battle, Quistis uses a chain whip, and her Limit Break is Blue Magic. Her most damaging limit break is Shockwave Pulsar, which can do 5-digit damage with the right amount of Magic, but does not ignore special defense as Squall's Lionheart does (this attack is identical to the Shockwave Pulsar used by Griever.) In terms of personality, Quistis is fairly insecure and prone to depression, although she does have a more lighthearted side. At the beginning of the game, she has an unrequited crush on Squall. Early in the game, Quistis is fired as an instructor. The reason, Quistis says, is that she "lacks leadership qualities." However, after Balamb Garden is freed from its Shumi masters, Headmaster Cid Kramer reinstates her. As the game progresses, the main characters eventually regain their childhood memories, realizing that Squall, Seifer, Quistis, Zell, Selphie and Irvine were all raised together at the same orphanage. They also remember that Squall's characteristic morose and unfriendly behavior began when Ellone, a girl who was an older sister figure to Squall, left the orphanage unexpectedly. As a result of these revelations, Quistis decides that what she thought were romantic feelings for Squall is really more of a big sister complex that began with her childhood attempts to comfort him over the loss of Ellone. She is thus able to settle once again into an older sister role in Squall's life, and to accept his romantic relationship with Rinoa Heartilly. Like Zell, Quistis was removed from the orphanage and then placed with foster parents. Unlike Zell, she was never adopted. She said that her new "family" didn't work out, and as a result, she ended up at Balamb Garden by the age of ten. [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Quistis Trepe ] | Searches on eBay |
