Rachel Hunter (b. September 9, 1969 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a famous Kiwi supermodel.BiographyRachel Hunter was born to a middle-class family in Auckland. Her parents endured a rocky relationship, and they eventually divorced when she was still a child. In 1982 she was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. Following her recovery, she became more extroverted, which may have given her the fuel she needed to pursue a career in the Hollywood spotlight. While she had always dreamed of becoming a ballerina, she wound up posing for the camera. A model by age 17, Hunter soon graced the covers of fashion magazines, including Vogue and Cosmopolitan. At the age of 21 she wed British rock star Rod Stewart, who is 24 years her senior. Together they had two children: Renee and Liam. In January 1999, Hunter and Stewart separated. Since then she has been romantically linked with other stars such as Robbie Williams to Bruce Willis. Accomplishments & fameDetractors claim that a lot of her exposure is the result of her marrying a famous rock star. This is not to say that she hasn't had any achievements. In addition to the fashion magazines such as Vogue and several Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, she's appeared in several independent movies, including 1999's A Walk in the Park and 2000's Two Shades of Blue. She has also been a contestant on the hit TV-series Dancing with the Stars and The Real Gilligans Island. In early 2006, a new reality program aired on WE, Style Me With Rachel Hunter. On this program, contestants participated in a series of fashion challenges to prove that they "measured up" and were capable of being Hunter's stylist. Hunter, Phillip Bloch, and Milica Kastner were judges. The oppurtunity to style Hunter for the People's Choice Awards and a cash prize was awarded to the winner, Buick Audra. On January 18, 2006, Hunter was slotted to appear on The Howard Stern Show, which is broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio. She never even made it into the studio. Hunter and her publicist claimed that they didn't realize the show would be taped for Stern's inDemand channel, and backed out because she wasn't "camera-ready", despite comments from producers that she looked fine. After some deliberating and a show-down between her publicists and the producers, Hunter stormed out of the building, cancelling four other appearances that she was to have made in the Sirius building.
