Relm Arrowny is a fictional character of the Square Co., Ltd.'s computer role-playing game Final Fantasy VI. She is an artist and the (possibly adopted) granddaughter of Strago Magus.

The player meets Relm during the first visit to Thamasa. After speaking to her grandfather, Strago, Relm introduces herself to the party. After finishing the conversation and staying the night at the local inn, the party is awakened by Strago, and asked to rescue Relm from a burning house. Relm is rescued from the burning house, and when the party leaves for the Esper Cave the next morning, Relm follows them. She is eventually useful in helping the party defeat Ultros, showing him that he is, in fact, a stupid-looking octopus, by sketching him.

When the World of Balance becomes the World of Ruin, Relm is found in the mansion of the rich art-collector, Owzer, where she is painting him a portrait of the Esper, Starlet. The portrait, possessed by a demon, comes to life, and the party is forced to defeat it, after which Relm once again joins the party.

Relm also has a mysterious relationship with Shadow, who is rumored to be her father, following a number of clues left in the game.

Relm was born on September 9th, making her a Virgo.

Sketch

Relm's special skill is Sketch, which allows her to duplicate the skills of her enemies with varying degrees of success. In early copies of the North American Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of the game, Sketch was extremely unstable (mostly when done on invisible or otherwise atypical enemies) due to an uninitialized pointer, and could potentially cause the infamous "Sketch glitch." This would normally crash the game, but it could sometimes add literally hundreds of items to the player's inventory (including thousands of the item "Dirk", and items not normally obtained in quantities greater than one), switch characters on the active team, and even alter or erase saved game data. The "Sketch glitch" was removed from a later SNES version and is not in the PlayStation remake of the game in any form.

After obtaining a relic called Fake Moustache, Relm's ability turns into Control, which allows the player to completely control the enemy, and select from a small list of the enemy's attacks to use. This is, incidentally, one of the best ways to teach Strago some of the more esoteric Lore spells in the game. It is also useful to disable an enemy entirely while the rest of your team pounds on it with magic attacks.

In Final Fantasy VI Original Sound Version, Relm's theme is called "Relm" -- disc 2, track 19 . Her leitmotif is also found in the track:

*"Relm" is also featured in the Final Fantasy VI arranged album Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale in the track "Relm" . The theme is arranged a cappella for the ninth track, "Kami No Yurikago" ("God's Cradle") , of Final Fantasy Love Will Grow.
