In the game Rise of Nations, it is possible to build Wonders, which can only be built once and provide their possesor with various economic or military benefits. They require large sums of resources in the Multiplayer and Instant Battle modes or the use of cards on the Conquer the World map. They can be captured by enemy nations by capturing the city within whose economic radius they preside. Players can only build one wonder per city in the real-time part of the game, or one wonder per territory in the Conquer the World part. The bonuses provided by the Wonders are fairly reflective of the Nations that possessed them in real life, the Statue of Liberty reflecting America's great military power starting in World War I, the Terracotta Army reflecting the large size and light-infantry base of Chinese armies, and so on. Wonders are age-specific, and generally fit with their development in real life. Wonders can also contribute to a Wonder Victory. Each Wonder has a point value that can be tallied up during gameplay. When the Wonder tally reaches a pre-determined limit, a timer begins, giving other players the chance to prevent the Wonder building player from victory, rather than giving that player the victory outright. Note that for each Wonder you construct, each subsequent Wonder becomes more expensive to build.Classical AgeColossus of RhodesConstruction Cost: 200 Gold, 200 TimberWonder Value:1
