| Samuel Stayman (1909 - 1993) was a U.S. bridge player. He was the eponym of the Stayman convention. The convention was invented by Stayman's regular partner, George Rapee, but was popularized by Stayman in an article that he wrote in Bridge World magazine in the late 1940s.
