Games - Sargeras

Sargeras is a fictional character in the Warcraft universe — a fictional universe in which a series of games and books are set.

Biography

Sargeras, the Bronze Titan and champion of the Pantheon, was an honorable warrior of his kind. The Titans began work on numerous planets, preparing them for habitation. However, wretched demonic beings from another dimension, the Twisting Nether, appeared and started to undo their works. To prevent such travesties, the Titan high council Pantheon
elected its greatest warrior, Sargeras, to deal with the demonic peril. Sargeras fought the demons for centuries.

In time, Sargeras encountered two pernicious demon races. The first comprised of devilish warlocks known as the Eredar, who possessed immense control of demonic magic and used it for maleficent purposes. Conversely, their might was petty in comparison with Sargeras', so the Titan seized them and incarcerated them in the vast Twisting Nether. Though victorious, Sargeras had been corrupted by the fiends' vile magic, and was thus troubled.

In time, Sargeras encountered a horde of vampiric dreadlords known as the Nathrezim. These insidious dreadlords used their abilities to manifest hatred and distrust in people's hearts. Sargeras whipped them, casually, into the next known dimension. This time, depravity seemed to overwhelm the mighty titan lord.

As rage and doubt overran his other emotions, Sargeras eventually lost his mind and relinquished faith for the Titanic Order. Abandoning their ranks forever, he set out to find his place in the universe. The Pantheon grieved his loss.

As madness consumed the last vestiges of Sargeras' bold mind, he began to see order itself as folly, and that chaos and destruction are the optimal absolutes in the universe. He blamed the Titans for the creation of failure and after what appeared to be endless years of recollection and pondering, he deemed all of the Titans' work obsolete. With one fell bash, Sargeras unleashed the confined demons, who seemed like pawns, standing insignificant before his might. Without the slightest tinge of hesitation, they bowed down and swore eternal service and loyalty, regardless of pain, torment or toil foreboding. Anew, these maggots served not a noble bronze titan born of good, but a flaming, horned monstrosity consumed by darkness and guided by death. A titan whose hair and beard combusted into flames, horns of smoke protruded from his forehead and his chest was a chasm sheltering fury and revulsion.

Among the ranks of the Eredar, Sargeras selected two champions: Kil'jaeden
the Deceiver, who was chosen to recruit the darkest races in the universe and Archimonde
the Defiler, who was called upon to rally the armies of Sargeras. Sargeras looked upon his swelling ranks and deemed them, infamously, the Burning Legion
. This unstoppable force was indomitable to distort all that is good.

Sargeras incinerated or annexed countless celestial bodies during which he stumbled upon Azeroth. His primary invasion was a total failure as his attempted entry was greeted by a furious explosion and sundrance of the World.

Failure was not in Sargeras' intentions. He saw this resistance as base defiance, and uncovered a way of entering the World. He disembarked in Northrend
, where Guardian Aegwynn
met his presence. A cataclysmic battle led to Aegwynn's dominance over Sargeras, who was unaware that Sargeras' spirit had been infused into her own womb. This ethereal entity would later minto her unborn son, Medivh
, the Last Guardian.

Simultaneously, Kil'jaeden deceived the orcs in Draenor
and corrupted them with demonic magics. Forced to drink the blood of Mannoroth
the Destructor, the orcs transformed into bloodthirsty war machines.

When Medivh
was born and reached maturity, Sargeras twisted his thoughts and made him open a portal between Draenor and Azeroth to let the orcs pass. His aim was to reach the Tomb of Sargeras, in which Aegwynn locked Sargeras' crippled body years ago.

Orcs flowed in through the Dark Portal and chaos began in Azeroth. However, the apprentice of Medivh, Khadgar
, realized Medivh's corruption, and with the help of Sir Anduin Lothar
, he succeeded in killing the possessed Guardian. With the death of Medivh, Sargeras' spirit was banished back to the Twisting Nether.
