| The Sega Exodus is a portable Sega Genesis made by Benjamin Heckendorn. It is in no way associated with Sega, Nintendo, or any other video game making companies. The Exodus isn't actually based on a Sega Genesis. Its core is a low-power Genesis-on-a-chip, taken from a Radica PlayTV Legends TV game. Its built-in controls use the Radica controller board, because the GOAC couldn't recognize the Sega board when he tested it.
Being a closed system, the original Radica wasn't expandable. Heckendorn solved this problem by removing the built-in ROM storing the standard games, then wiring a card connector of the same type the Genesis used to the empty ROM socket.
