Swingin' Ape Studios is a video game development studio founded in July of 2000 by Steve Ranck, Mike Starich and Scott Goffman after leaving Midway Home Entertainment
. They had just completed the successful water-based arcade racer, Hydro Thunder.

Swingin' Ape Studios specialized in multiplatform game development. In 2003, the company released Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for the GameCube, Xbox
, and PlayStation 2
and it was published by Vivendi Universal and Sierra Entertainment
. This was the only game they would release under the Swingin' Ape name. The company was acquired by Blizzard Entertainment
in May of 2005.
